Obituary
Esther Louise Bosson Steigers
Esther was born in Seattle, WA on January 11, 1926 to Cyril and Mathilda Bosson. She grew up in Burien and graduated from Highline High School. She was a true ‘roller beauty’ at the Southgate Roller Rink where she met her husband of 62 years, Herb Steigers. They were married on April 14, 1945 and remained in Burien ever since. They raised four daughters and were blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was very active at St. Francis Catholic Church, where she was a lifetime member, and she and Herb met many long-time friends there. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Esther was one of the original ‘Rosie the Riveters’ partnered with her sister Mary. After raising her girls Esther worked at Jorstad’s Jewelers and then at Sears Surplus, always loving interacting with people. She loved socializing, shopping, working in the garden, and going to lunch with all her dear friends and family.
Esther passed away December 29, 2009 in the comfort of her family after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Herb, her parents Cyril and Mathilda, and her siblings Jack Bosson, Mary Crowley, Willie Bosson and Josephine Ownes.
Esther is survived by her daughters Sherry Dean Brinton, Nancy Greg Wines, Cindi Cal Nagato and Lory David Newsom; grandchildren Jennifer,
Heather, Justin, Joshua, Kalia, Logan and Elliott; and seven great-grandchildren. Her family was always foremost in her life. She adored every one of us.
Esther was so loved by everyone who crossed her path. She was always full of good humor and shared many laughs with those around her. Esther will be
missed by all but we are comforted knowing that she is now at peace with Christ and without pain.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 4, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 15216 21st Ave. SW, Burien, WA 98166. A
reception will follow the service in St. Francis Unity Place. Interment Gethsemane Cemetey, Federal Way, WA.
Remembrances may be made to Highline Cancer Center 16233 Sylvester Rd. SW Suite 110, Burien, WA 98166.

Auntie Esther…She was like my 2nd Mom; always there with a smile and a laugh, always cooking up something for us kids! She never had anything bad to say about anyone, just always smiling. I loved her so…my husband George remembers her as someone you can sit down with and have a good talk and think you have known her your whole life. She is already missed, but will always be in our hearts. Jill and George Dull
