Obituary

GORDON, Gary C., a native of Washington, born in Ballard, WA on August 17, 1939, died February 28, 2008 at the Evergreen Hospice of Kirkland. Gary was raised on Beacon Hill and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1957. He jointly ran a concession stand with a business partner and friend in Twanoh State Park near Belfair on Hoods Canal, and later moved to operate a restaurant next door to the park for a couple of summers. He joined the Marines and served as a reservist, the 2 years in California. After the service, he worked for the Rocky Mountain Insurance Co. for over 20 years as a computer operator. In later years, his main hobby and love was his interest in buying and fixing up classic cars, especially the older British models. He lived in Kent for many years until he was unable to live in his home due to illness. He is preceeded in death by his father, Robert C. Gordon. He is survived by his mother, Annabelle Gordon of DesMoines; his brother, Robert J. Gordon and wife, Verna Texas his sister, Kathleen Treece of Maple Valley; nephew, Robert P. Gordon and wife Arlene California; and many cousins and friends. There will be a graveside service for family and friends at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Washington Memorial Park 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, Wa. – 206-242-1787 with a reception to follow at Washington Memorial Funeral Home same address. Gary will be missed.
