Obituary
Gladyce Putman, long time resident Des Moines, WA went home to the Lord on October 11th ,2006 at Lakeside Manor, Enumclaw, WA. She was born October 20, 1915 in Konowa, Oklahoma to Lee and Annie Forehand. Gladyce grew up on a farm in Oklahoma, then traveled the world with her two children, to be with husband Calvin at the many ports of call while he served in the Navy. In 1954 the Putmans moved to the Burien area, and they joined Beverly Park Baptist Church. She attended there for over 50 years and will be missed by her many friends there. Her 90th birthday was celebrated just this last fall at her beloved church. Gladyce was vibrant and active til near the end. Gladyce was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Calvin C. Putman, and brothers Calvin and Raymond Forehand. Gladyce is survived by siblings: Edith Hively, Alice Reddick, Viola Reynolds, Bud & T.H. Forehand and son: David Putman & wife Gloria of Puyallup; daughter: Linda Wise and husband John of Enumclaw and grandchildren: David L. Putman, E. Anne Putman, Laura Drennen and Julie Wise along with great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on October 17th, 2006 at 1 p.m. at: BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787. She was one of the best mother-in-laws. She was such a lady and always tried to promote peace. I have such respect for her and many of her ways I want to copy for my own life. She was truly blessed with a beautiful and loving family, longevity, and health. God has plucked for himself one of our more beautiful roses.
I WAS A LONG TIME FRIEND OF GLADYCE AND HAVE VERY FOND MEMORIES TRAVELING TOEGETHER. WE HAD BEEN FRIENDS SINCE 1978. I WILL ALWAYS TREASURE OUR FRIENDSHIP AND WILL MISS HER VERY MUCH.
I had known Gladyce for over over 10 years and cherish our friendship. I will miss her very much.
