Obituary
James S. Pomeroy
James S. Pomeroy, loving husband, father and grandfather, died suddenly on March 2, 2014. Jim was born in Renton, WA on January 1, 1941. He graduated from the University of Washington, and was an avid Husky fan. Jim spent his retirement with Pam, his devoted wife of 33 years. They enjoyed traveling, spending time in Arizona, being at their cabin near Leavenworth, fishing, hiking, and tennis. He is survived by his wife, Pam, his daughters Julie Bean (David), Lori Corwin (Rod), Wendy Genson (Dean), Pam’s two sons Ken Convery (Sandra), Michael Convery (Andrea) and daughter Susan Convery (Hsin), six grandchildren, four cousins and their families, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy and his father Philip. Jim will be greatly missed.
We will miss Jim so very much. He was truly a good man. Pam, we are thinking of you and we hope to see you up at the cabin. Please keep in touch.
We loved our Grandpa Jim so much and will always treasure all of the wonderful memories we had together. We are here for you during this difficult time, Grandma, and we love you very much.
Jim had a quiet dignity that was my first impression and got to know him through his daughter Lori. Pam and Jim were a very cute couple always smiling. Glad we met him and we give our sympathies to the family.
Jim was a wonderful neighbor and will be missed at LBE. My prayers to Pam and the family.
Jim was one of my true friends at King County. We had good times fishing, playing cards, and solving the problems of the County as we saw them. Jim was a great guy.
Our condolences to Pam and the family on their huge loss.
We were so saddened to hear of Jim’s passing and the loss
of a wonderful friend. I shared so many life events with Jim
as boys and young men. Farewell my friend and confidant
as I recall our many great experiences together.
Dear Pam,
We are so sorry to see this sad notice of Jim’s passing. We remember with great delight the very fun time we spent with two you on the cruise to Mexico many years ago. Jim’s wonderful, warm and friendly personality was truly precious to his family and friends and most of all you. We will always think of the two of you with fondness. Our heartfelt sympathy to you, Pam, your family and friends.
I am so sad to learn of Jim’s passing.
I have fond memories of my friendship with Jim during our school years. We both attended Sylvester Junior High and Highline High School. We played on the same little league baseball team (Jim played 1st base, I played 2d) and played on a number of basketball teams together. We were close friends in high school, but lost track of each other after high school, other than seeing each other at high school reunions.
Jim was a really good guy, caring and kind, and had a great heart.
My deepest sympathy to Pam.
Pammie, this is just the hardest thing to do. We go back so far and our bond so deep. We are and have been family for so long..we love you Auntie Pam.
Bunny, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jimmy. He was a wonderful man & loved you with all his heart. I admired, loved & respected him very much. The three of us shared many laughs & adventures together. On my piano there is a photo of Peggy, myself, you and Jimmy having champagne brunch in Reno, glasses held high in a toast. It always makes me smile thinking of how much fun & history we had together. You are in my thoughts.
Dear Pam and all of your family,
I am so sad to hear of Jim’s passing. You and Jim have been like a second family to me growing up. As my parent’s (Jim & Joyce) best friends, I was lucky to have spent many vacations with the Pomeroys at their cabin in Leavenworth. I always admired the affectionate and fun-loving relationship that Pam and Jim had, and I appreciated so much being a part of it. You and Jim inspired me with your commitment to enjoying life together: through your travels, your friendships, and the way you embraced family and grandchildren. Your friendship means the world to my parents; they just love being with you- you always have such good times together. Pam, I know you miss Jim so much. Please know how much you are loved and we will be missing Jim along with you. ~Shannon
Aunty Pam,
You and Jim and family are in my heart and I am praying for you during this most sudden, painful and difficult transition. I love you so much, and I will come to see you soon.
Love,
Polla
Pam, know that we are here if there is anything we can do.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
We are so glad we were a part of yours and Jim’s adventures at the cabin.

Dear Pam,
You and Jim have always been like an aunt and uncle to me and Shannon. Going to the cabin and spending time with you guys (and making snow ice cream!) are some of my fondest memories of growing up. I am so sorry about your loss and have been thinking about you. I will miss Jim so much, so I can only imagine how difficult this is for you.
With love,
Alysia
Pam,
Jim will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. You and he have been a joy to work with. Take care of yourself and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Anne and Bruce
Jim’s ready smile and wry sense of humor will be greatly missed. What a great guy! We shared many a pleasant visit with Pam and Jim…
I’m so sorry I missed knowing Jim these past thirty years or so as they certainly must have been filled with wonderful times for Jim and Pam. I witnessed the beginning of their journey together and am so pleased that they were blessed with these many years to enjoy life. Jim will clearly be missed by his many friends and family – what a life well-lived!
The Big Man upstairs must have welcomed him with a high-five and a ‘well-done’!
