Judy I am so sorry to hear of Johns passing. I so enjoyed seeing you guys at the club. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Judy & Family,
John was a true family man. On trips back to Iowa and South Dakota, he always joined in as if he’d known all of us all our lives. He had the patience of Job in making sure that everything operated smoothly so Lorraine and Hope, Joyce and Lowell, and even family on my dad Charlie’s side could gab and eat for hours and hours catching up. He usually had a feisty opinion about nearly everything which made him a truly interesting man. Always with a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed.
Love,
Roz
I remember the good boy scouting times with John. We are sorry for your loss.
(Sent from my iPad of course)
I knew john working together in kent. We both managed school computer networks while also showing students and teachers the possibilities of computers as a valuable resource. We must have made an impression as grade 7-12 students are now issued laptops till the end of their education in Kent. John you were a grade A colleague, and that’ no grade inflation either!
I’m sorry you left us so soon. I’m also sure you were called up for a good reason. No doubt your many talents and good soul were noted by our Lord and you are up to good works “up there”
John was on the Alley Cats Monday night teacher’s bowling league. His smiling face and high bowling scores are greatly missed by everyone. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
John was a wonderful family man and loved his wife Judy dearly. He will be missed.
Dear Judy and family,
What a lovely service for John today. I am so happy I was able to be there for the send off to his new Heavenly Home.
You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as I know only too well the tough days you will have ahead of you. I am sure you will do your best and John will be proud and always looking over you and the family. Call me anytime you need an understanding ear to listen.
Love and God Bless you all,
Your cousin, Margaret
I was fortunate to cross paths with John during his last year working at Neely-O’Brien Elementary. I will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and his helpful spirit. He was called upon routinely for technical support and a multitude of other needs. He was unfailingly cheerful and kind. John was great with the children who loved him as much as the staff did.. I am thankful to have worked with John. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his family.
I worked with John for many years at NOB and he was a wonderful friend and teacher. He helped all of us numerous times when we had computer problems and he was a compassionate educator. Bill and I are sorry that we were unable to attend his services. Our love to Judy, his children, and his extended family.
Hugs,
Jan
I worked with John at Neely-O’Brien for 2 years. It was my first teaching job and he took me in and made me feel welcome from the very beginning. I guess he saw me as too naive, because he always looked out for me. Whenever I had any problem, he was always there for me. That was John, an extremely kind and giving person. At the end of my first year as a classroom teacher, I was overhwhelmed with the amount of work and was having a nervous breakdown. I was crying alone in my classroom and could barely hold it together. He saw me in the lunchroom and asked if I was ok and I said I was fine, trying to hold back the tears. I didn’t have to say anything, he knew I needed help but didn’t know how to ask for it. That afternoon, he came and took over my classroom so that I could get some of the work that was overwhelming me done. I will never forget his kindness. Thank you John.
John was such a funny guy. So, so smart, too. He was passionate about his job, and put 100% effort into everything he did. I worked with him at Neely for four years, and he was a caring, protective, and quirky person. He was so knowledgeable, and was always ready to help, no matter if it was a professional or personal matter. He loved his family, and whenever he spoke of them he beamed. I am glad that I got to know him, and am so sorry to hear of his passing.
I job shared at Neely-O’Brien with John in sixth grade 22 years ago. I went to kindergarten the next year and am still there!
It’s been hard not having John at Neely but to have him gone is unimaginable! We all know he was a believer and is in a better place but to have had such little time after retirement makes me very sad.
Thought, prayers and blessings to you all. Kiss Hailey and Ben for me!
I taught with John many years at Neely O’Brien and considered him a wonderful teacher and friend. I think the thing I most remember about him is how willing he was to give of his time and patience in helping a fellow teacher.Such a special man who will be missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to Judy and his family.
John mentored me as my other half for my first two years of teaching. Such a blessing!!! He was a friend, mentor, and ally to one and all. John had a huge impact on the Neely-O’Brien family and was sorely missed when he retired.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. He loved you all so very much and was oh so proud of each of you. My thoughts are with you.
John had a smile on his face whenever you aske for help or clarification. He was always willing to do whatever he could to help you. I will miss him greatly.
I was sad to hear of “Mr. Eads'” passing. He was my all-time favorite teacher. I will be forever grateful for his introducing me to J.R.R Tolkien…he read us the Hobbit back in the 1970’s at O’Brien Elementary School.
I’ve gone through a ton of classes (including university graduate school) and I still say Mr. Eads was the best!!!
I am very sad to find out about the passing of Mr Eads. I had the privilege and honor to be one of his students for 5th then 6th grade in the 70s. He was probably the most caring, gentle, funny, and intelligent teacher any student could ever have. Rest in peace Mr. Eads.
I had Mr Eads as he was a student teacher @ O’Brien Elementary, the following year he taught @ O’Brien as a teacher. He was a great teacher. I’m sorry I did not know about his passing. I stumbled on the info by accident. I am sorry for your loss. He was a great teacher and man. R.I.P. Mr. Dad’s.
Best teacher I ever had.
