Marion ”Mona” M. Parker

Born March 19,1913 to Frederick W. Watt & Effie Mackenzie Watt near Victoria, B.C., Canada the eldest of four children. Mona passed away peacefully April 18, 2006 after a very long struggle with Alzheimer disease. She was married in 1937 to John F. Jack Parker and they together raised a family of four children. Mona moved with her family to Seattle in 1952 from Vancouver, B.C. and was employed with the Highline School District administrative office for many years making many friends along the way and retiring in 1978. She was very active in Southgate Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Lake Burien Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her family and a caring and loyal companion to her many friends. Mona was preceded in death by her husband in 1982. She enjoyed square dancing and traveled extensively in her early retirement years with her husband and later with many of her friends. Mona is survived by sons John Renee, Donald Donna, David Lolly Randall Parker and daughter Marion Ron Mason. She leaves 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Fleming Homes for their loving care given our mother all these many years. The family suggests any memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer Foundation. A private family memorial and celebration of life is planned. To know Mona was an opportunity to know a true lady. Mona and Jack can be extremely proud of their legacy: John, Donald, David and Marion, to whom I offer my sincere sympathy.
