Mary Ann Marinich
Mary Ann Marinich, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jovanovich and beloved wife of Anthony Marinich, passed away suddenly on Sept. 10, 2007. Mary Ann was born in Roslyn, WA on July 8th, 1941. She graduated from Highline High School, attended the University of Washington, and worked for the Bon Marche for many years. She married Anthony Marinich on Sept. 9, 1967. They had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Mary Ann was an active member of the West Seattle and Crestwood Garden Clubs, the Croatian Fraternal Union, the Y.L.I. supporting shelters for homeless women, and St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Her hobbies included cake decorating, doll making, gardening, and cooking. Mary Ann especially enjoyed her cabin in Cle Elum and spending time with her family. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Anthony, brothers Frank, Fred, Jack, John, Tony, and Larry Jovanovich, their wives, her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Mary Ann was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Croatian Fraternal Union Scholarship Fund, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Spoon River College Foundation, or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel, Burien. Please sign the online memorial guestbook at www.bonneywatson.com.
Just saw in our local paper about Mary Ann. Both Jozo and I were so grateful for all her help with the Bosians refugees. She was a wonderful, giving and loving lady. Our love and sympathy to all of you
Larry, I was sorry to hear about the passing of your sister. It’s been 48 years of wear on my memory but I clearly recall that Mary Ann was such a nice person and a good class mate.
My thoughts to Mary Ann and my best best wishes to you and your family.
Mike
Tony, I have worked with Mary Ann for 3 years on the Hospitality House Board. What a wonderful person and spirit she was. Always ready to share her gifts. How we enjoyed her cakes so beautifully decorated and she was there helping in so many capacities. Thanks for calling and letting me have that wonderful conversation with her. We will miss her. God Bless you and give you comfort.
