Obituary
Neta “Arlene” Hope age 89 was born to Leora and Philip Kirsch in Lebam Washington on November 15, 1925. She was the fourth of five children, June, Dick, Mary and Polly.
Graduated from Ilwaco High School in 1945
Married Thomas Edward Hope on September 2, 1949 in Seattle Washington. They were married 59 years, with three children, Christine Mudie, Lora (Scott) Whiting, Jeffrey (Kristy) Hope. Eight grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan, Tyson, Kaylyn, Seth (Emily) Bryce, Jordan and Miranda. One great grandson AJ and numerous nieces, nephews friends and neighbors.
Arlene was very social and loved camping, berry picking, mushroom hunting, clam digging and the beach. She also loved to dance and bowl, from bowling Leagues to Wii bowling Arlene enjoyed her bowling. Most of all she was known for her kindness, smile and her love of family and friends.
After sixteen months of of being away from her home Arlene was able to return to her home where she passed away peacefully, March 10, 2015. Arlene was and always will be loved and remembered by all whom had the chance to know her. We Love You Mom ! A celebration of her life will be held on April 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm

Chris, Aaron, Ryan, Tyson, and A.J., I ‘m sorry for the loss of your Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma. May all of your wonderful memories help you get through these tough times.
Arlene was much loved by several generations of Olympic Nat’l Park employees who worked at Staircase Ranger Station. She was a real morale boost to tired and hungry firefighters as they returned to the Station and found an endless supply of homecooked meals Arlene provided. It was a real privilege to have Tom and Arlene on our staff.
I worked with Arlene and Tom in Olympic National Park in the ’70s. Arlene was always like a mom for the seasonal rangers, amused by our antics, keeping us in line and really, just a pleasant and loving person. Like Tom, Arlene had a great sense of humor and sincerely cared for the people in her life.
I briefly met Arlene some years ago through her daughter Chris. Cheerful and friendly lady, with a beautiful smile. I wish I had the opportunity to see her more. It is so wonderful that she had such a loving family around her. I am sure she will be missed immensely.
I attended and graduated with Tom at Enumclaw High School, thus met Arlene at the first class reunion they attended years ago. What an amazing, happy couple, who spread sunshine with smiles, humor and friendliness. They were loyal attendees at all class functions, and loved by all classmates. Treasured memories.
They will be forever missed. Condolences to their family.
