Bob,

Even though I was only given the opportunity to meet you once, you left a very deep and positive impression with me. I will never forget our talk as we walked Jennifer’s carriage around your neigborhood. I never forgot your wise advice. I was honored to be your son-in-law.

And even though your 3 grandchildren (Anthony, Jennifer and Joseph) were never given the opportunity to have a relationship with you, I made it a point to privately speak of you with each of them over the years. I wanted them to know you, to know and be proud of their heritage.

I will miss you. Rest in peace Bob.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Bob’s passing. It has been many years, before Gramma died, that I have seen him or heard anything and I have thought about the Shaffer family often. Most of my time was spent with Gramma and just recently talked about her yummy Christmas gift of homemade candy every year. I do remember when I was very young going on a picnic with the family and believe Uncle Bob was there. I always thought of him fondly and am sorry for the family’s loss.
