I never worked with Bill on any projects at B&OI but I did get to see him at the Thriftway in West Seattle. We’d comment on what was in each other’s basket and laugh. Let’s just say, Bill liked chocolate. I was always happy to see Bill. He was always friendly with a smile. This is truly a loss. He will be remembered.

Bill and I worked together for years on the Microsoft account. He was a wonderful man that I was privledged to call my friend. I could always count on him for a level headed approach to any challenge and especially loved his sense of humor. He always took time to ask how I was doing and cared about others. I will miss him greatly!

Even though I did not work on a team with Bill-he effected the culture of our company and how we work together.

His rock solid work ethic and big smile was appreciated by everyone who came in contact with Bill.

May God Bless and send the family sweet memories of Bill.

I did not grow up with a brother, I found him in 2007. We had so much in common, not only our jobs. We shared books, a love of mystery, irony, history and dry humor. We laughed about things (that we should not have) to make them easier. We confided in each other when the job got difficult. I would often ask him when we were going to go to Sniper School (when days were hard) and his response was always, “Let’s go now!” I will miss Bill and I will think about him every day.

Bill was the first Project Manager I worked with as a Project Coordinator. Needless to say, he set the bar sky high! I soon realized he was part Project Manager Extraordinaire and part Magician. He made our porjects run seamless, with a remarkable professionalism and comradery. Without a doubt, Bill left his mark on our industry…. a legend, I am told! He will be missed in this world, but always remembered with great respect. It was a true honor to have known him, and for that I am grateful.

Never was there a person more giving of their time, energy, advise, humor and great smile.

I had many opportunities to work with Bill and very much appreciated his common sense and rock solid approach to day-to-day challenges. He got us through many many projects seamlessly and made us laugh along what sometimes felt like a very hard road.

This is a sad day for us. He will be greatly missed as a colleague and a friend.

Bill was a man with heart and substance.

I have had the pleasure of workig with him in the past and he recently became a mentor to me as I rejoined him at B&OI. He took me under his wing and wanted to help me succeed. I will miss his smile, selfless dedication and seeing the single light on at his desk as I opened the door as he said “Good Morning Petra”.

Bill was more than a coworker, manager or even a good friend . He was someone you could count on and who always acted with integrity. Honesty, respect and kindness could have been his motto. He also had a knack for telling you how it was, but always did so kindly… leaving your pride in tact.

I looked forward to seeing him everyday, trading stories, laughing, solving problems together. He was the big brother I never knew I needed and I loved him very much. He will be terribly missed.

My sincerest condolences go out to his family. May they take some peace knowing how well loved and respected he was by so many.

I miss you Bill! Things are not the same here without you.

I miss your presence, hearing your voice telling stories, your laugh, and even your silence–you were such a quiet walker! I will miss feeling safe when I get here in the morning before anyone else and you are the only one here.

I’ll miss saying goodbye to you as you try to sneak out at the end of your day, but I know you are leaving, so I yell “Bye, Bill” and I hear you say back to me “Bye, Allison have a good night”.

You pulled no punches, you told it like it was whether we liked it or not, but we always walked away from you trusting your words. You were a selfless person and always put others before you. Thank you for your friendship and all that you taught me about mentorship and having integrity in what you do. I will miss you tremendously. May your family find comfort knowing how much you were loved and the lasting impressions you made are unforgettable. Peace be with you.

I only had a short time to know Bill – two years. But he was one of those people that come into your life and you say to yourself, “he’s a good person”. You will be missed my friend – I hope you are at peace.

I think I can speak for many of us at Steelcase in Grand Rapids, Mi. who worked with Bill over the years in saying that Bill was as fine a gentleman and as skilled a professional as I’ve ever come across.

He would keep our engineering team out of trouble by being better at what he did than we were at what we did. But he was too nice a guy to ever say it.

I was so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My condolences to his family.

My condolences to Bill’s family & friends. He will be greatly missed. He was one of the first PM’s that I worked with when I started in the Seattle office in 2007. He was very patient with me and helpful when I needed a solution to make something work. We had many small to large projects together and our last one was & is still a handful. He would assure me “show me what you want and we will figure it out.” He was super helpful and patient on the fly too with one of the ends users and did what he could to satisfy their request. I will miss my early morning starts in the Redmond office and him coming in to say Hello & asking him “How’s it going?” and both of us saying the same “It’s going” giving each other that look like we are surviving.

My thoughts & prayers go out to his Family.

On behalf of Bill’s mother, step father, uncles and cousins I would like to extend the family’s sincere and great appreciation for all of his friends and colleagues kind words and condolences.

Bill was my cousin. When I was unemployed about 30 years ago he helped me and my young family by letting me work some side jobs with him as an installer. If it were not for him offering me a job one weekend years ago I would not have received a job tip. A tip which led me to a job I have spent the last 29 years doing.

Bill will be greatly missed at family gatherings. We could always count on his dry wit and amazing knack for selecting greeting cards to brighten our lives.

Thank you all.

Bill touched so many people’s lives in a positive, funny, uplifting way. It is amazing to see the words written from others and understand theyeach felt the same way with Bill. Bill and I became fast friends at work many years ago – often confiding in each other when challenges in life and work were present. He was always there to support me.

We laughed, and smiled and cried together. I will miss him dearly.

My condolences go out to his family and his mother specifically. He always spoke so highly of her. I can only hope that my 9 year old son will speak so lovingly about this mother when he is that age.

Peace Bill. I hope you are at Peace.

I came across Bill’s obituary today and it took me back, way back. Imagine Bill as the young man I am about to talk about. We were 15 when we met. He was from Magnolia and I was from Queen Anne. We were trying out for the Queen Anne High School Sophomore football team. He was a wild man who wanted to play middle linebacker like his idol Dick Butkus. Unfortunately for Bill it was not meant to be. He blew out his knee and had surgery on it that year. And as it turned out the same thing happened to him his Junior and Senior season as well. I remember how angry his mother was with him for even turning out for football his Senior year, but that was Bill. He still believed he could do it and would not quit. Back then there was no arthroscopic surgery and Bill’s leg’s looked like they belonged to Frankenstein. Though he was unable to complete a season intact, he would always come back and support the team. I can still see him there on crutches holding a clipboard for coach Stubbs, Jensen or Lindquist. I also remember Bill driving around in his beloved, green pick up truck. The Summer before his Senior year Bill’s mom moved from Magnolia to West Seattle and I thought he might transfer, but Bill wouldn’t think of it as he wanted to finish school with his friends so each morning he would make the then long drive to Queen Anne. That’s the kind of guy he was. Several years later some of us formed a tavern league flag football team and Bill was there once again. This time however the football gods were with him and he was able to play and stay healthy. I remember Bill and his friend Doug going “camping” in Teanaway. That usually meant they were driving over the pass to drink a lot of beer! I remember a football party with the crazy Bill running around baring a knife between his teeth while grinning madly the whole time. I remember Bill dating one of the hottest girls in high school! I remember hearing Bill say “KEYRIIIST”. But most of all I remember my friend. Bill Landon

Bill made work something so much more special than just work.

He told it straight like it was and did what it took. He was the pillar of strength that our team relied on.

I have been blessed to have walked in this life with Bill. My friend, my confident, my partner in crime, my right arm.

I will be eternally grateful to have known him.

As a designer in the furniture industry, we rely heavily on the amazing knowledge or our experienced installers and PM’s. Bill was a legend in our industry… never short on wit and advice on how to solve a random problem out in the field. My sympathy and condolescences to his family during this time… Even down here in San Diego his loss is being felt throughout our dealership. God Speed Bill… hopefully, you are at peace….

Simply put, Bill was one of the good guys in life. I did not know him personally, or as well as I would have liked, but he was consistently rock solid on delivering what he promised for Microsoft. I often told Kristi, “Don’t ever let him get away”. He was always dependable, going out of his way to be sure the goods were delivered on time and stepping forward to solve problems when they occurred. His personal accountability stood as a great example for those around him. My condolences to his family, we will miss you Bill.
