Isaw the Obituary posted in the Edsonian Quarterly. Of particular interest, since there are very few of us Edsons in the F7 tree. Our common ancestor would be Nathaniel Edson. Would appreciate contact.

We know Alan only through his daughter Connie, our friend and neighbor. We know of their devotion to each other, and we know his memory will be cherished.

Al and I met in 1965 when I was a trainee in the credit department of NBofC and Al had just started as the Assistant Controller for the bank. We quickly bonded and I have wonderful memories of the time we spent together during those early years of my banking career. Al was very dedicated to the bank and was well liked by all who had contact with him. Over the years I had the pleasure of spending considerable time with his family, including many dinners at his home. After dinner we would take a long walk around the area and chat about a wide range of subjects. Al had a wonderful relationship with his three children Dennis, Randy and Connie. I know that they will miss him deeply.

As a teenager, I used to live next to the Edson family and babysat Dennis, Connie and Randy often. There was always lots of noise and fun in that home, and Alan loved his kids dearly. For the last 20+ years, Alan has been taking care of my mom’s taxes, always in a caring and professional way. We’ll miss him tremendously.

I worked at Rainier Bank for much of the same time Al was Controller. Although he was much senior to me, he always made me feel that I was contributing an equal share and I have good memories of those days.

Uncle Alan started doing my taxes when I first got married back in 1967. I can still remember the first time he did them,I took my shoe box full of grocery store recipts, department store recipts and misc. other recipts. Alan opened up the shoe box lid and said what the “h___” is this? I explained these were all the taxes I paid last year. He laughed so hard I thought he’d pass out. Then he explained to me what taxes were deductable. He was a great uncle and I learned a lot from him as well as had a lot of laughs with him. We sure are going to miss him. My heart goes out to my cousins Denny, Randy and Connie. We share their loss.
