~Broken Chain~
‘We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.’
Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m.
at St. Barbara Parish Chapel in Black Diamond. A reception
will follow with committal at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town or a local Food Bank.
Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of Al’s passing. I was just looking at the obituary’s for another friend and found the listing for Al. You were both such an important part of my life and you were so good to my Dad for all the years he drove for Western. Allowing him to be home for Christmas every year no matter what. That is still one of my best memories. Seems strange to think that dad has been gone for almost 17 years, it seems like only yesterday. May they always watch over us and keep us safe now. My love and prayers. Love Carrie Hathaway.
Cathy,
I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Al. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I was Al and Western Van’s attorney for many years before I retired. There has never been a more gracious, honorable and likeable man.
Al still lives at Western Van. We are reminded of him everyday thru his wonderful stories, his comments and his business savvy. Every now and then someone will make a comment and we know that’s something Al would have said. His contributions to all of us here are immeasurable. We have received this past week numerous heartful condolences from throughout the entire Allied organization. We all agree he was “One of a Kind”.
As Al still lives at Western Van, he still lives at the Canadian Consulate. He is one of those special & unforgettable people who is so often spoken of with fondness & respect by those who had the honor of knowing & working with him. I was fortunate to have had that honor since the late 70’s & know that on so many levels he was a special gentleman & indeed “One of a Kind”. Kathy, may your wonderful memories of Al help you through this difficult time. God bless you and your family.
I have fond rememberances of Al – he will be greatly missed by many. A nice, nice man, full of interesting stories. Al, I’ll play some Sinatra in your memory. God bless you and keep you, Al, and God bless your family.
To my Dad…..if Heaven weren’t so far away, I would visit you everyday…..I miss you and love you…..
Kathy and family, I’ll always remember working for Albert he was kind, knowledgeable & had a lot of compassion for life. I loved his stories, he was a great man. God bless your family as you deal with the loss of Albert.
Kathy & family so sorry for your loss. We remember Al as one of the nicest people we have known. Every time we walked in to Western Van I knew there was always a hug from Al. We will miss him a great deal. Best wishes.
Dearest Kathy and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. So very sorry tht I can’t be there to show my respect for Al and you, and to honor him as he so richly deserves.
God bless you and yours,
Denise
Al and I were business friends since the early 70’s. As a printing salesman and later as a broker when I started my own business, Dick Kennedy & Associates, I handled all the printing requirements for Al when he owned Western Van & Storage. He became more than a client, we became friends, even at Overseas Relocation Services. We were about the same age and lost contact when we retired.
Al was a gentleman and I have fond memories of our business relation ship. He will be missed by many.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kathy and the Niccoli family. Al will be missed so much.He said to me when I went to visit him he could not believe how many people thought of him. How could they not.He will never be forgotten.
May God hold you in the palm of His hands…
Albert taught me everything that I know abouut the moving business and helped to shape me into who I am today. He was like a father to me. I miss him much each day and remember him with much fondness.
