Alfredo D. Valmonte

Val, born on January 10, 1923 in Manila, Philippines passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 5, 2008. He served in the United States Armed Forces in the Far East USAFFE forces during World War II and survived the Death March of Bataan. After his military discharge, he attended law school and practiced as a trial lawyer in Manila, Philippines.

In the early 80’s Val joined his wife Lourdes and the family in immigrating to the United States. They settled in the Seattle, Washington area. A very spiritual and devout Catholic, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as eucharistic minister at Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Sammamish, WA. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his grandchildren and traveling.

Grieving his loss are his wife, Ma. Lourdes, children, Arlyn Bob Griffith, Jess Sara, Mike, Joe Mary, and Charmaine, 7 grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday from Noon – 7 pm at Bonney-Watson, 1732 Broadway, Seattle, WA. Rosary prayers are scheduled for 6 pm on both days. The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 14, 2008 at 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 1121 228th Ave. SE, Sammamish, WA 98075.
