Obituary
Alfredo “Freddie” “Boy” Novero Flores lived a full, long life with many adventures.
Born in the Philippines, Alfredo was recruited into the US Navy as a teenager giving him the ability to travel the world. While serving overseas, he earned the nickname “Flash Flores” due to his reputation as a boxer with quick hands. His role in the Navy as a Petty Officer for 21 years gave him the opportunity to bring the rest of his family to the United States, changing the course of his family’s life forever. He ended his career with the Navy at the age of 39 but continued to serve at the Veteran Affairs Hospital until retirement.
Over the course of his life, Alfredo left his mark on many lives. He is survived by his wife (Jean Flores), two sisters (Zosima Flores and Ofelia Madlangbayan), and 10 children (Gilda Munoz, Yreka Flores, Rachel Flores, Monica Dyer, Alfredo Flores JR, Zachary Flores, Lolita Cook, Sophia Flores, Edgar Flores, and Myla Flores).
His experience in the military and as an immigrant caused Alfredo to emphasize diligence and education into his children. For that, they are very grateful. He was a huge fan of the Seattle Mariners, Manny Pacquiao and Frank Sinatra’s era of music.
Alfredo was always motivated by family and through his resilient spirit he lived through various strokes and surgeries. When the time came for him to return home, he died peacefully at the University of Washington Medical Center surrounded by family and love. Alfredo passed on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the age of 75.
A funeral is scheduled for 12pm on Monday May 7th at 16445 International Blvd, Seatac WA’ with a reception to follow. Pastor Vino Atienza will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alfredo’s life. Prayers, condolences, donations are appreciated.
