ALICE EVELYN “MAGEE” BIERCE
Alice was born October 4th 1918 in a small cabin in the woods outside of the small town of Addy Washington. She was raised in a wall tent on the shores of lake Okanogin British Columbia where her father Tom Magee was a hand logger and her mother Vena Magee was the camp cook. The family moved to Boulevard Park on Military Road when she was five. she attended Boulevard Park Presbyterian church the rest of her life. Alice graduated from Highline High School in 1937 and attended Edison Vocational in Seattle. She married Dale Bierce and together raised Elaine and Don at the same time as she developed her own mission to bring comfort to shut-ins and hospital patients. She, Dale, and Elaine’s husband Bill Peters all became home renal dialysis technicians and were her primary care providers until her passing. time was then focused on her lay mission work including “NAIM” in British Columbia and “Hopital Lumiere” in Haiti. A very social being Alice left in her wake a very large number people touched by her loving spirit, she died peacefully with her son Don at her side December 5th 2014.
I have been doing genealogy research and found that this wonderful lady is closely related to my grandmother. (who was adopted) I wish we could have known her… by reading this I can see she touched many lives. If her son sees this… please contact me.
