Obituary

Alvin ‘Dusty’ RHODES was born in Centralia, WA on March 30, 1913. He died peacefully in Renton, WA on February 24, 2009 at the age of 95. He was a WWII veteran and was active at the VFW Post 1263. He also was a lifetime member of the Free Masons Society, and played pool at the Renton Senior Center until weeks before his death. Dusty’s keen sense of humor and wonderful outlook on life will be missed by all those who love him, especially his neighbors. Dusty was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Biggs and his second wife Alva May. Dusty is survived by his step-daughter, Arlene Marchant, step-grandchild, Lana Helton, and great-grandchild, Brianna Helton, and step-grandchild, Lance Helton, and great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Austin Helton; 2 nieces, and brothers-in-law, Glenn, Delbert, and Roy England. A special note of appreciation to his caregiver and friend Terri Storms. Committal services will be held on Tuesday, 03/03/09 at 11 am at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787. Memorial services at the VFW, to be announced.
