Andrew (Andy) Bevilacqua
1942 – 2022
Andy passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born in Seattle on September 21, 1942, to Italian immigrants from Genoa, Andrea and Albina Bevilacqua. Andy, along with his three sisters, was raised on one of the early produce farms serving the Pike Place Market.

Andy graduated from Mt. Rainier High School in 1960, where he excelled at and pursued his passion for baseball. Following high school, he started his working career at Kenworth Trucking. In February of 1962, he began his service in the United States Army serving our country overseas in Germany. After his military service, Andy went to work for the Boeing Company. He and his wife Irene then founded and successfully operated Andy’s Vending Service for twenty plus years. Following the vending business, he continued to serve the Burien community selling cars and trucks for Glen Grant Chevrolet.

Andy will be remembered as a gentle person who cared deeply about his family and friends.
Andy led a full life and was deeply committed to his Italian heritage. Through his devotion to his American and Italian families, Andy was able to bridge two continents and bring multiple generations of family together. In addition, he was an active member and officer of the Sons of Italy for over fifty years.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Irene, daughter Diane (Neil) Parker, son Jim (Wendy) Bevilacqua, daughter Nancy (Ray) Waddell, grandchildren Madison Bevilacqua, Thomas Bevilacqua, Sydney Parker, Andrew Parker, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters Betty Prandi, Elsie Nielsen, and Velma Woody.

In celebration of Andy’s life, a Funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 21, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Burien.

I’m so sorry to hear about Andy’s passing. He was so nice and called me here in New Jersey every once and awhile! My dad Ben, just loved him so much. They surprised me once in 1980 when the two of them came to visit me in NJ! They were on their way home from getting a refrigerator truck in Georgia. He was going to take me to visit relatives in Genoa but we never made it. Thanks Irene for calling me. All my love, cousin Nancy Bevilacqua Rainey

I remember all the good times spent together with my Uncle Andy and family. The Sons and Daughters of Italy picnics, driving us around on the golf cart. The Christmas parties when the whole family got together for good food and fellowship. Peace, prayers and blessing to all the family.
