In Loving Memory of Annie Earline Hall
On the evening of June 22, 2023, God picked a beautiful flower from His garden, Annie Earline Johnson Waits Hall. The journey became tiring for her, and He knew it was time for our Dear Mother, MaDear, Granny , Miss Annie, Earline, Mother Hall to rest.
She was born to the union of Robert Johnson and Maggie Jackson Johnson of Florence, Alabama on November 16, 1931. She received her public education at Burrell Slater in Florence, Alabama. Annie Hall resided in Florence, Alabama for a few years, then moved to Buffalo, N.Y., Little Rock, AR., and finally making her home in Seattle, WA, where she resided for over 35 years.
Earline, as she was affectionately called, loved to dance, crochet, collect all types of ceramic ducks and roosters, and watch Walker Texas Ranger. At 9:00 a.m. she watched “Let’s Make Deal,“ as well as “The Price is Right”. Some mornings I could hear her say, “I told you not to pick that curtain, that’s too much or too low.” She always had a smile for you and would say she was all right when you knew she was in pain. Her granddaughter, LaJuana, who took care of her every need, doctor appointments, Spa Days, grocery shopping, and would stay with her when she knew Granny wasn’t her best and say, ‘Granny you know you’re not being truthful right now.’
She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Bennie B. Waits, Sr. and Freeman Hall, Sr.; sons Thurmond O. and Donnie R. Waits, Sr., Sisters: Callie Hauge, Rosie Mae Bennett, Gracie Gregory, Magdalene Thompson, Christine Strawter, and Barbara J. Abbott. She leaves to cherish her memory, Sister Sonya McMillan of Chicago, IL; Son Bennie B. Waits (Valerie) of Little Rock, AR; Daughter Sheron L. Hooks (George) of Seattle, WA; Special granddaughter LaJuana R. Hooks-Jackson (McClira) of Puyallup WA); Special great grandsons Darius D. Hooks of Puyallup, WA and MeDearest Dixon of Renton, WA; Stepdaughter Ruth Waits & Step Granddaughters Tasha Waits Holbrook (Darren) & Roslyn Neely of St. Louis, MO; Granddaughters Michelle Waits of St. Louis, MO, Niecy, and Neariah Waits of Ashtabula, OH; Tekoah Dorsey (Stetson Hall) of Houston, TX; Grandsons Donnie Waits of Buffalo, NY., Thurmond Odell Waits, Jr (Angela) of St. Louis, MO, DonMaurice and Jeremiah Waits of Ashtabula, OH. Great grandsons Xavier Waits of St. Louis, MO. Jeriah & Zerahiah Colbert, Isaac Dale IV of Houston, TX; Great granddaughters Krichel Childress and Aaliyah Birge of Chicago, IL, Emery & Autumn Hall of Houston, TX; Nalani Waits of St. Louis, MO.; Great Great nephew Adriel Mastersson of Seattle, WA and 160 nephews, nieces, and cousins.
