“Aunt Lucille, Lucille”
Annie was born in Red Banks, Mississippi to the union of John H. Fant and Annie B. Fant. The eldest of three girls, one preceded her in death (Magnolia Rose). She accepted Christ at an early age, at her grandfather’s church. She met and married Prentice Kimmons and they moved to Vancouver, WA then later to Seattle, WA. She was the backbone of her family, moving her mother, two sisters and their children to Seattle. She united with People’s Institutional Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board. She later joined Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Norman Mitchell. She loved people and served on the Senior Usher Board and sang in the Senior Choir, where she was active until her illness.
She had 14 nieces and nephews who were like her children. Two preceded her in death, Curtis Fant and Patricia Garner. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Mattie B. Lock-Washington, Seattle; seven nieces, Christine Brown (Edward), Clara Shafter-Henry, Nellie Lock, Louise Ross-Harris, Mattie M. Anderson, Linda Frazier (Ronald) and Connie Ross; five nephews; Raymond Ross, Anthony Ross, James Lock (Denise), Mark Ross and Michael Ross all of Seattle, WA. A Goddaughter, Liz Washington of South Carolina, and a host of great nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Lucille was like a second mom to me and my older two brothers Jim and Tom along with my two older sisters Mary and Susan
We loved her so much. Connie and Llnda would come play with us.Luciles momma was a Gramma to us. She would tell me when you go to sleep at night…wear your best nighty so if Jesus comes you will be ready to go with him. I love. you Mattie Linda Connie. Sorry l wasn’t able to make it…l will miss you Lucille …. l am the daughter of Mrs Cunningham in Seattle
