Obituary
Annie Mae White was born on May 9, 1914 in Liberty, Texas to Gregory White and Emily Cormier-White. She attended Sacred Heart School in Ames, Texas.
Annie met and married Dennier David in June 1930. To this union was born fifteen children, eleven of whom survived to adulthood.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Court number 33 in 1935. In 1942, Annie received a certificate of commendation for Patriotic Service in Time of War as an Agricultural Victory Leader for Liberty County, serving our country by helping rural families to participate in war emergency work for freedom and humanity.
Annie moved from Liberty, Texas with her husband and children to Seattle, Washington in 1954. She became a parishioner of St. Therese’s Church and continued to be a member throughout the decades, until her death.
Annie loved music and learned to play the guitar at the Seattle Central Area Senior Center where she also volunteered. She was the oldest member of the Central Area Senior Center ‘Sliders’ dance troop. She also traveled extensively visiting her children and family members across the country. Annie was a devoted wife to her husband until his death in 1975 after 45 years of marriage. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Gregory White, a sister Sara President, brothers Richard, Gregory, Edward, and Lawrence White, her husband Dennier David, three of her Children Rose Neals, Audrey David, and Rolland David, as well as four grandsons.
She is survived by one brother, James Thomas White, sister in law Bernice White, her children Mary Ann Thibodeaux Joseph, Margaret Nichols, Dennis David Ruby, Beatrice Sledge Leo, Edward David, Andrew David Marilyn, Cynthia Tippens, Michael David and over fifty grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Annie was truly a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed by her family, her friends and her community.
To Aunt Margaret and Family God knows best. Your Mother had a long beautiful life here on earth now she will have a longer and more beautiful life in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
