Obituary

Ardell Miller passed away on February 12, 2024 at Garden Terrace Healthcare Center in Federal Way, WA. She was 86 years old. She was born on June 11, 1937, in Freeman, South Dakota to Ardis and Dave Gross. The family moved to Washington when she was 7, and as a teenager she was confirmed at St Mark’s Lutheran Church in Seattle. She graduated from Highline High School in 1955. She married Bert Miller at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church on July 2, 1955 and they were married for 57 years.

She is survived by her daughters Rhonda and Julie, sister Judy, brother-in-law Don, their daughters Terri and Sandi who lovingly called her “Auntie Dell”, and their families. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews from both her and Bert’s side of the family.

She took pride in her home and loved cooking for her family and friends. She liked gardening, decorating her home and making flower arrangements and wreaths for the holidays. She dearly loved her many cats and “grandcats” through the years.

Her daughters would like to thank St. Anne Hospital, Garden Terrace Healthcare, and Tri-Med Ambulance service for their care. A special thanks to the SeaTac Fire Department who no matter what time of day or night we called, they were always gentle and kind. Also, a special thank you to her neighbor Shirley Gile for her invaluable support and friendship.

They would also like to thank the members of the Facebook group, Kitten Cam Clowder. She didn’t know when she adopted her current cat Ellie Marie from Purrfect Pals that she would be welcomed into such a friendly and kind group of people from around the world.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Purrfect Pals at https://purrfectpals.networkforgood.com/

Services will be held on Saturday March 16, 2024, 1:00 PM at Bonney-Watson Washington Funeral Home, 16445 International Boulevard SeaTac, WA 98188. Reception to follow.
