Passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on March 30, 2013 at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He was born on January 21, 1931 in Cateel Davao Mindanao Philippines and was the eldest of 5 surviving children. He immigrated from the Philippines to Seattle, WA in 1970 to live the American dream and had several jobs to support his family.
He is survived by his wife Teresita; children Susan (husband Hao Kung), Catherine, Robert, and Thomas; grandchildren Zoi and Tek Kung; brothers Julio and Romualdo, sisters Numy and Erlinda (husband Manuel Macalino) and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Eulola and Pedro and 5 siblings who died during infancy.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Aureo was a hard worker, dependable, funny, joyful, and had a love of gardening.
Throughout his life, family was his top priority. Aureo married Teresita (Pajatin) dela Cruz on January 24, 1976. They settled in Seattle, WA and raised 4 children; Susan, Catherine, Robert and Thomas. His children graduated with many talents and honors, and went onto careers and hobbies in auto mechanics, architecture, construction, and pharmacy, which was a source of pride for Aureo. Aureo’s grandchildren, Zoi and Tek, were also his pride and joy. His biggest wish was to watch his children (and grandchildren) grow, graduate school, get married and have children.
