Barbara A. Price 

May 22, 1932 – October 28, 2016 

Barbara A. Price, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 at her residence in Federal Way, WA at the Brookdale Foundation House after a courageous battle with Breast Cancer and Dementia.    

Barbara was born on May 22, 1932 in Springfield, MO to the late Richard and Retha Seamon.  She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK and attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, MO where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.  On December 20, 1952 she was united in marriage to Edward A. Price at Boston Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK. 

 In 1955 Barbara and Edward moved to the Federal Way, WA to work and raise their family.  The family moved to Santa Maria, CA for 4 years and returned to live in Federal Way in 1972.  She worked for the Federal Way School District as a teacher’s aide (Olympic View Elementary and Sacajawea Junior High School) where she retired in 1992 after 18 years working for the school district. 

 Barbara was a member of Twin Lakes Golf and C.C. for over 44 years.  Upon retiring she worked as a volunteer at Group Health Hospital in Federal Way.  She had a strong commitment to her family and friends. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Price and is survived by her four children, Deborah (Mike) Clute of Salida, CO; Randall (Suzanne) Price of Leavenworth, WA; Cindy McCracken of Bellevue, WA; and Richard (Sandy) Price of Auburn, WA; eight grandchildren, Steven (Dani), Joshua (Lacey), Morgan, Christopher, Nicole, Jordan, Dylan and Hailey; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Rylee, Olivia, Ashlyn and Marion.  She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and many close friends. 

 A private family service with committal will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at Twin Lakes Golf & C.C. in Federal Way, WA from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. 

The family would like to thank the Group Health Hospice team (Lisa and Beth) and the staff at the Brookdale Foundation House in Federal Way.  They would, also, like to thank a special group of friends whose support and love has been amazing
