Obituary
At age 56, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left us Saturday June 4, 2011 while surrounded by her loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer.
Barb is survived by the love of her life and best friend, her devoted husband Robert, their children Melissa and Whitney, son-in-law Tim and grandchild Conner, sister Sharon, mother-in-law Ann, sister–in-law Gina and son Christopher, sister-in-law Michelle, husband Cameron, niece Madison and nephew Brandon as well as many other loving family members and friends. Barb was preceded in death by daughter Megan, her parents, father-in-law Joe and sister-in-law Debbie.
Barb was a devoted employee of Safeway for 41 years. She served the West Seattle community with loyalty and dedication.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hersman and staff, the oncology staff at Valley General Hospital, and the ICU unit.
Barb will forever be remembered and loved deeply. We will miss her for all eternity.
There will be a funeral Mass Friday June 10, 2011 at Holy Rosary in West Seattle at 3:00 pm.
Auntie Barb,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the great memories we shared together. I cannot think of a time where you didn’t make me laugh and smile. I feel blessed to have known you, loved you and be loved by you. All my love to you, Bob and the girls.
Dear Sister, thank you for always being so much more than just a sister inlaw. Thank you for being a real sister. You made my Bobby so happy and were so devoted to Melissa and Whitney. I know you will watch over all of us forever. I love you and will miss you everyday until we meet again. Love, Your Sister Gina
Auntie Barb,
Thank you for the life long memories we all were so lucky to make together. Your laugh, smile and humor will stay with me forever, I am so grateful for that. I will miss you and always carry your spirit with me. We all love you and are all blessed to have had you in our lives.
Ha Bob. I’m so sorry for your loss. Barb will be remember by so many people. Loved going in her line at safeway. She always had some smart ass remark to say about something. I’ll miss her. My payers are with you and your family. Hang in there.
I will forever be grateful for the lifelong friendship we shared together with our families. You were the best friend I could ever ask for. I will hold you close in my heart for the rest of my days. I love you Barbie – take good care of our babies Megan and Josh.
Auntie Barb,
It’s been a privilege to be your goddaughter. The 30 years of memories, laughs, and love will be remembered always. Thank you for teaching me how to live with an open heart, kick up my heels & dance on a table, and cherish those around me. I love you.
