Benjamin Andrew Foss

Obituary

Benjamin Andrew Foss passed away tragically from a heroin overdose laced with fentanyl on
May 11, 2023.

Ben was born on November 18, 1993. As a youngster, Ben enjoyed playing baseball and
participating in many other activities including football, soccer, basketball, and taekwondo.

As an adult, Ben loved books, movies, and music. He taught himself to play ukulele, often
entertaining his friends and family members with his newest rendition of a song. Ben also
enjoyed reading, and particularly enjoyed books about 20th century history and politics. In the last couple of years, Ben had taken up bodybuilding and adhered to a stringent daily routine of weightlifting exercises.

Throughout his twenties, Ben worked as a painter, framer, and demolition man. He was looking forward to starting his own painting business in the future.

Ben had an affable personality and enjoyed making others laugh. He made friends easily, and enjoyed spending time playing sports, enjoying a good meal, and joking around with his buddies.

Due to a heroin/fentanyl overdose, the light of this funny, intelligent, kind-hearted spirit was
taken from our lives by a horrible and relentless drug. Our family asks that you realize no one is
immune to the epidemic of heroin and opioid addiction.

We fought as hard as we knew how to help Benjamin. The fact that our constant hope of his recovery was dashed so senselessly, is devastating.

We must fight hard against these drugs because they block the brain’s ability to make sound decisions in order to save one’s self.

For those inclined, we ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to one of the following organizations:

  • Adult-Teen Challenge Seattle men’s campus
  • The Salvation Army or
  • The Union Gospel Mission

Each of these organizations provide programs to help people struggling with addiction.

Rest in peace dear Benjamin, you will not be forgotten.

I was shocked when I learned the news. I didn’t know Ben well, but I met him, realized right away what a likable guy he was and he seemed like a very happy fellow at the time. I might vaguely recall learning he had an issue with drugs, but I would not have guessed during my interaction with him, so that knowledge wasn’t even on my radar. Perhaps he wasn’t struggling with the addiction at that time, or perhaps he hid it well. That just goes to show you. Shannon and Michael, my sincere condolences.

Dang Bro. You were the most original guy I ever met in life. I spent a whole year with you in ATCPNW, and we shared a lot of laughs, and a lot of deep conversations. The struggle is over, and there will be no more pain form this wicked world. You will always be remembered in my heart and mind. I hope you’re family will find peace in the fact that you made a very real and positive impact on a lot of people. R.I.P Bro
