Obituary

Bernard “Bernie” Kenneth Sanford, peacefully went to join the Lord on Monday evening, June 28, 2004. Bernie was born in Harding County, South Dakota on November 10, 1923. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Lorraine; two sons, Kevin and Michael; foster daughter, Debra Guillaume; grandchildren, Terry Scott II, Kenneth, Sean, Kathleen, Amy, Tyler, Gabriella, Sarah, Jonathon, Joseph and Alex; a sister Eugenia Carpenter of Blackfoot, Idaho and several nieces and nephews. His sons Terry and Brian preceded him in death. Bernie was a Past Master of Southgate Masonic Lodge #100 in Burien, Past Worthy Patron of Southgate Chapter #190, Order of the Eastern Star as well as a member of Nile Temple, Triple Tau, Scottish Rite, Order of the Amaranth, American Legion and a 40 year member of Burien Elks Club. He proudly served his country in WWII spending three years in the South Pacific. He was very active in the Stephen Ministry program at John Knox Church for several years as well as serving as Deacon there. He was an outdoor man and loved to camp, fish and hunt. For over 45 years, he owned and successfully operated Sanford Drywall.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 1:00 PM, BONNEY-WATSON Parker Chapel, 900 SW 146th Street, Burien, WA 206 244-2320. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Eastern Star Cancer Fund or a charity of your choice.

We will all miss the quiet, gentle-man who we love so much.
