Obituary
Bill Maltby
Passed away at Swedish Medical Center on the morning of Septermber 7 at the age of 75.
Bill was born in Evanston, Wyoming to Frank and Delilah Maltby on August 9, 1933. After graduating from Evanston High School, Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War, then settled in Seattle, where he began his 30-year career with Boeing. Bill married Nancy Ellen Cyr on July 5, 1958 and raised their three children in the Roosevelt and View Ridge areas.
Those who knew Bill remember him for his generosity, his loyalty, his love of a good off-color joke and his ability to build or fix almost anything, whether it be an antique lamp, a new sun deck or a middle-aged garbage disposal. He enjoyed spending time with his family and took particular pleasure in his role as ‘Pa’ to his two grandsons.
Bill is survived by Nancy, his wife of 50 years; his sister, Delilah Davis, of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his children: Chris Maltby of Washington, DC; Brad Maltby and his wife Patsy of Everett; and Mary Maltby of Seattle; his grandsons Brandon and Colin Maltby; and numerous nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He will be missed by those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Bill’s name to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, at Bonney Watson Funeral Home on Capitol Hill at 1732 Broadway, Seattle.
