Obituary
Blanche May (Kanous) Schott, after living a full life, passed away at age 85 on December 1, 2021 in Renton, Washington.
Blanche was born in Flint Michigan in September of 1936. Sadly, her birth mother, Blanche May Recore, passed away giving her birth. She was raised by her father, Harold Earl Kanous & step-mom, Della (Faille) Kanous.
Blanche married Lawrence (Larry) Frederick Schott June 1957, who preceded her in death March of 2020. She is survived by three children, David, Diane & Catherine (Cathy) Schott. When David was only 1 year old, Lawrence and Blanche moved from Flint, Michigan to Renton, Washington so Lawrence could work for the Boeing Company as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. While Diane and Cathy were in elementary school, Blanche returned to work and worked for Boeing Computer Services as an administrative secretary. Her three children fondly remember her as a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Blanche is also survived by the children of David and Mary Schott, Kaitlyn (Schott) Castor, Brianna “Anna” Schott and Derek Schott. Blanche was also a great grandmother by Kaitlyn who is mother to Judah and Rosemary. Family in Michigan that survived Blanche are two nieces-in-law and one nephew-in-law, Kim (Lack) Halls, Karen (Lack) Lenhart and Rick Lack and several cousins located throughout the United States.
Blanche loved to bowl, read, do crossword puzzles, play board games with friends, travel with Larry and spend time with family. The best thing she cooked was sweet potatoes and apple pie.
Both Lawrence and Blanche were religious and were founding members of a church, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Renton, Washington. They were church members of St. Andrew for over 40 years. There will be a private entombment for Blanche. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the church in Blanche’s name.
