M.O. “Bing” BINGHAM

Passed away at home on May 18, 2005, in Federal Way, WA. Bing was born in Sulphur Springs, TX on April 15, 1922 to Bascom and Mabel Bingham. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen. Also surviving are their five children, Patty Chastain, Kate Blessing, Lannie Gibson, Mike Bingham and Bev Bingham, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his sister Ruth Puckett of Richardson, TX.

Bing spent a very happy childhood in Sulphur Springs, joining the Navy in 1940. He served aboard many ships, receiving several medals and citations. He and Helen married in 1946 and eventually moved to Seattle, WA, where they raised their children. He started his own business and worked as an electrician for many years. He was noted for his integrity and was well respected by his peers.

He was a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, tracking, and camping. He was an excellent carpenter and woodworker, and improved every home in which the family lived. Bing will be remembered for his love of family, love of books, and his many stories about his experiences.

Viewing will be on Saturday, May 21st at Bonney-Watson Federal Way, 1535 SW Dash Pt. Rd., from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. There will be a gathering for family and friends in their home to celebrate his life the following day starting at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2625 3rd Ave., Seattle, WA 98121.
