Brent Joseph Rice

Obituary
Climbing mountains is what Brent liked to do best. He loved the beauty and the challenge of climbing, and each mountain represented a separate test of strength and will. As Brent was courageous in conquering mountains, he was equally courageous in setting goals that he wanted to achieve, and he pursued them with the same tenacity. He drew inspiration for life from his climbs, and his inspiration was contagious. Not only was Brent successful in school and swimming, he was successful in life. Brent was especially dedicated to his family and friends. He wanted the freedom to surround himself with the people he loved and to do the things that were meaningful to him. He was a natural leader and had an innate ability to make friends and bring them together. Charisma defined Brent, and he transferred this energy to those he knew. His friends all agree that Brent brought both excitement and many priceless memories into their lives. He realized that life is short and while he worked hard for his future, he made the most of every day, and this is no exaggeration. His life in this world ended suddenly 25 miles east of Yuma, and in death he has entered the greatest adventure of all. Though he did not bring a map or a compass, Brent was ready, and with God as his guide, you can be sure he has already made the summit.
