The Kiwanis Club of West Seattle appreciated Bruce’s great and lasting contributions to our community. As membership chair I speak for my fellow Kiwanians in saying he is missed very much. From his extensive list of contributions, our club feels fortunate that he included us in his efforts. Kiwanians make a difference, everyday, in our community by helping agencies and children – one child at a time. We express our condolences to Evelyn and her family.

Evelyn and Family

Some of the best years of my career at Boeing were spent working for Bruce. Tremendous engineer and person. You and Bruce also threw some great backyard BBQs for our group—won’t ever forget them.

I was saddened by Bruce’s passing. I worked with him for many years on IUS and AP and knew him before that. He was very bright and capable, also capable of driving program managers to distraction on occasion.

SDarah and my thoughts are with Evelyn and the family.

I vividly recall Bruce suffering from an ailment, that had him bedridden at home as we were working on the early IUS proposal. I remember meeting Evelyn routinely in the Kent parking lot, and exchanging IUS configuration and structural data for the U.S. Air Force. He was an outstanding engineer and manager, and I will always remember him as a good friend.

Caryl’s and my sympathies are with the family.

To Evelyn and the Landry Family,

On behalf of the Herrins I would like to express our sorrow and deepest sympathies to you. Although we have lost contact over the years we often think of the great contributions that Bruce made to our family though his wonderful leadership of the Boy Scout Troop that he lead so ably for so many years. He help make scouting a terrific experience.

I will also always be grateful to Bruce for helping me get my first engineering job at Boeing. He will be missed.

Bruce and I worked together for several years while in the Boeing Advanced Projects organization. It was a good experience for me since Bruce was a very good engineer and manager. I also have many good memories working with you, Evelyn, on the CASE meeting calling effort.

Gregg and I were friends when Demetria was a young child, he spoke often of his father and the trips/adventures that they shared. My father also worked at Boeing and was a Scoutmaster/316 Seattle. I never had the privilage of meeting Bruce, just the praise and love of his son for his father. I’m sorry for your loss – God bless all of you

Evelyn: Many of the things that we’re about to say about Bruce, also apply to you. We remember Bruce as being a very generous, honest, caring, and down-to-earth person. We remember the times we were able to get together: the Thanksgivings we spent together; the visits to paid us when you were traveling cross-country; yours and Bruce’s 50th wedding anniversary. Norm remembers Bruce’s encouragement, when Norm was struggling to find his way in the engineering world. In short, we remember Bruce as being a good man. We love you, Evelyn, and we share your loss.

A darn fine engineer you were and it was an honor to work along side of you on the IUS program. You were much of the reason the program was so successful.

It was such a shock to hear of Bruce’s passing. Bruce interviewed me and subsequently hired me into The Boeing Company over 33 years ago. He was such a sweet man and well respected by his entire Boeing family. My condolences to his family, many friends and past Boeing coworkers. He will be missed by so many.
