I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship started, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now; He set me free.

I was blessed to meet Burdelle while volunteering in Federal Way, where she was often the highlight of my day. She was a wonderful woman in my estimation, and I always looked forward to visiting with her on Thursday mornings. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and her dear kitty Lily. Rest in Peace Birdie, we all look forward to seeing you again.

Mom, I dream about you at night and during the day I sometimes pick up the phone to call you -then I remember you are not there. It saddens me so and yet I would not wish your illness back for all the world. You are now healed and with the Lord as you always knew you would be. We all love you so, Mother. And we miss you with all our hearts.

As the grandmother of my dear friend Jamie I will always remember meeting her…what grace and soundness. What joy and sincere attention to each person in the midst of a house full of people. May her family far and near remember the One whom she trusted for comfort and be comforted in this loss.

Sincerely,

Grandma…I miss you so much already, especially with my birthday here, I miss not seeing a birthday card with “Grandma Birdie” written across it. I have so many wonderful memories, living with you many years ago, you taking me to school and I was so scared, spending nights at your house, you always having faith in me, knowing I would be “alright”. I am so thankful to God Grandma that I got to see you this past Mothers Day. You looked so beautiful and it is how I will always remember you. I have the memory of holding your hand and giving you a strong hug and kiss for the last time. You are in my heart Nana Birdie and there you will remain until I see you again. Love forever ~ Diane DeeDee

My Gramzie was the best! She was so patient, kind, dignified, and sincere. She had grace and beauty beyond measure, and she was a true example of loving people unconditionally. I have always tried to live by her example, and have never regretted it. Her absence on earth will leave a tremendous hole in my life. Bye Gramz, I love you.
