My memories of Uncle Byrne revolve around the house on Whidbey Island. I have very distinct memories of the grandparents playing cards in the sun, the parents talking around tables and Uncle Byrne getting us kids all excited to go off into the woods with a paper bag and two sticks in search of snype. This past summer while on a camping trip with friends I carried on this tradition and took a troop of kids (3yrs to 11yrs) on a snype hunt of their own. You will be missed uncle Byrne…
I met Byrne in junior high school , the last time I saw him was
at a 60 class reunion from cleveland, sat at his table and had a good time talking about old times, it was great. Met his wife a
lovely person. I’glad I went, Byrne was always a nice person
to me.
“Oh, Byrne, how we’re going to miss you!” Byrne was always the “life of the party” at all of our get-togethers throughout the last 60 years, and Fran was a great “side-kick”!! We’re so glad that we had the good fortune to give Byrne a good hug and tell him that we loved him when we left Seattle in September. Our gatherings next summer will definitely be missing a good, fun, loving person. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Byrne’s family. Take care of yourselves!!!
Sent with love.
