We are so sad about our losing what we have come to know as a good friend in Carlton. You two are a real class act. My personal memories involve the many luncheons we had together and how much I enjoyed his story telling and sense of humor. Talk about prophetic…our favoite luncheon place was Andy’s Diner and I saw on TV where it is due to close soon. Please know our thoughts are with you in this time of your sorrow.

Dear Barbara,
I was shocked and saddened at the news of Carlton’s death. However, as a person of faith, I celebrate his homecoming knowing that he is at eternal rest with our merciful Savior. In our limited human understanding this seems like a paradox. So, please know that my prayers are with you for strength during this difficult time.
Barbara and Shawn,
You have my deepest sympathy. I will always remember the good times that we all had back in the late 70’s when Carlton did everthing athletic and Barbara made the best gumbo I ever tasted. We were young and full of hope. I will love to be there for you both.
Barbara and family:
So sorry. It appaers that Carlton lived a very good and diverse life.

Barbara,
My family understands the trauma of losing a loved one. Turn to yours and they will see you through this darkest period of your life.
I would not have recovered from Janis’ death if it had not been for my family.
Stay Strong and put your faith in your God.
Love,
Henry
Barbara, we have been out of town almost every weekend and did not hear until tonight. Our prayers, hearts and thoughts go out to you and your family. We are so sorry for your loss and ask – if you need anything at all – please let us know. You are a great inspiration to others.
Barbara,May God keep you in perfect peace during this time. I thank God for putting my cousin on my heart and was able to visit with him when I was in town last month,it was wonderful to sit and listen to his stories and jokes as all ways.
I will truly miss my cousin.
My dearest Barbara & family … It is so profound how a ‘human spirit’ is once it passes on to the next level…Firstly, I must share with you that Carlton’s funeral was one of the most beautiful ‘home-goings’ I have attended in many years! Last night your husband’s spirit was in my conversation with my brother Bill Langworthy, and he shared with me a story about their mutual ‘love of vintage cars’. I am saying all of this to say my dear Barbara …. Carlton lives so strongly in our ‘memories’ and how he touched our lives!!! Love you, and take care!
To Barbara & Peete family. We send heartfelt condolences for your loss.
We just received the Obituary of Carlton. May he rest in peace. May your sorrow be deminished.

My husband and I worked out at P90 with Carlton up until he retired. I am also from New Orleans, and we enjoyed swapping recipes and tasting each other’s gumbo! Carlton was a pleasure to be around and always had a smile on his face! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Barbara and Shawn- I am so sorry to here of your loss. I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing Carlton as a friend and a fellow employee. I met Mr Peete in 1985 when I became an employee for the Port. Carton and I hit it off from the start, working in our individual trades and sharing a common work ethic–“If your going to take the time to do something do it right” Carlton was an excellent crafts person, I learned a lot from Peete. Our career development paths took very similar directions in that we both were successful in our efforts to take on management roles at the Port after many enjoyable years working as skilled craftsmen. I feel very honored to have known Carlton, his friendship was real and I knew I could always count on him for anything. I have greatly missed Carlton ever since he retired and I will always cherish the memories and great fun we had together. Life is much too short. My prayers and thoughts are with you both – Mike McLaughlin
