Carol Ann Schertzer Simpier
Carol, a lifetime resident of Burien, left her family and friends on August 2, 2008. She was born to Kathryn and John Schertzer on September 20, 1942. She and her sister, Laverne, grew up in Normandy Park. Carol graduated from Highline High School in 1960. After high school she attended Mr. Lee’s Beauty School, then worked as a beautician for several years and continued to keep her beauty license active for many years to follow. In the late 1960’s she made the decision to change her career path and moved into the banking industry. She married Albert Simpier on August 1, 1974 and they just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. In 1983 they started A&C Glass in the Burien area and the business continues today.
Carol’s love of volunteering was highlighted when she became a charter member of the Rotary Club of SeaTac in April 1993. She was instrumental in the success of the SeaTac International Festival which she help start in 1995. Carol had a passion for gardening, crafts and her pets. Those close to Carol will miss her big blue eyes, big smile and even bigger heart.
A celebration of life gathering is scheduled for Sunday August 17th 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the North SeaTac Park Community Center 13735 24th Ave S, SeaTac.
She will be missed greatly by her family and friends and her memory will remain close in their hearts always.
