Obituary

Carol Bell LATU

1947-2007. Carol passed away on Sunday, January 7th, 2007 with her family by her side. A loving wife, sister, aunt and great aunt, Carol is survived by her husband of 30 years Vaitohi of Black Diamond, sister Sandy Pauze of Kent, nephew Warren Maxwell of Bellevue and great nieces Ashley, Brittany, Riley and Jocelyn.

Carol was all about family and friends. She opened her home to relatives and friends that didn’t have one for as long as needed. Her generosity always came from the heart. This was just the type of person that Carol was: caring, thoughtful and always thinking of others. Carol’s infectious personality made her well liked and loved by all that knew her, resulting in many lifelong friendships. Some of Carol’s many joys were family gatherings, playing cards, watching sports and spending time with her great nieces. She spent many years braving the weather to watch her nephew play soccer and was an avid baseball and football fan. Carol especially enjoyed playing Pinochle with her nephew Warren as her partner. Together they were an unbeatable pair.

In Carol’s early years, she survived Rocky Mountain Tick Fever at age 5, carbon monoxide poisoning at age 14, which claimed her parents, and Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2000. Carol was truly blessed in 1977 when she met her soul mate, Vaitohi Latu from Tonga. After 2 weeks they were married, and enjoyed 30 happy years together. During her working years, Carol won several trophies for her creative hair designs as a cosmetologist and enjoyed her position as a word processor at Fireman’s Fund Insurance, where she was able to use her creative abilities for presentations.

Carol will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She had the gift of saying the right thing at the right time and making others feel comfortable. Her laugh was contagious and she made all of us smile and laugh.

Funeral Services will be 3:00pm, Monday, January 15th, 2007 with viewing at 2:00pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac. There will be a remembrance reception immediately following. Private family burial will be Tuesday, January 16th, 2007.
