Carol Leone Akers
December 1, 1937 – April 2, 2025
Carol Leone Akers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Renton, Washington, at the age of 87. Born on December 1, 1937, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Carol lived a life filled with love, laughter, faith, and a profound sense of compassion that touched everyone she met.
Carol was known for her kind and generous heart. She had a gift for making others feel seen and loved, always putting the needs of those around her before her own. Her genuine warmth, boundless compassion, and infectious smile left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Carol loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. Her life was a reflection of that love—full of grace, humility, and a quiet strength that inspired those around her. Her faith was her foundation, guiding her through life with unwavering hope and joy.
She had a deep love for travel and adventure. Whether it was the bright lights of Las Vegas or the breathtaking beauty of Alaska, Carol found joy in discovering new places and making memories along the way. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she celebrated every moment shared with them.
Carol is survived by her four devoted children: Cynthia Carol Thompson, Diane Terese Akers Rothschild (and son-in-law Tom), Andrew Michael Akers (and daughter-in-law Traci), and Julie Ann Akers. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Shaun Michael Sargent, Brandon Michael Akers (husband Michael), Nicholas Ryan Sargent, Cameron Michael Akers, Sierra Marie Sargent, Brittani Nicole Akers, and Alexander Hales Bannerman. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren: Alexandra Marie Sargent, Callum Michael Bonham Akers, and Mila Margaret Bonham Akers.
Carol embraced life with open arms and a joyful spirit. She found happiness in the everyday and inspired those around her to live fully, love deeply, give generously, and walk in faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will continue to cherish her memory and the beautiful example she set.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit of love, kindness, and devotion will remain with us always.
Carol was my aunt, and my godmother. I’ve seen Carol throughout the years, she recently celebrated my 61st birthday up in Bonney Lake and we had Tuesday tacos with uncle bob. My mom jeannie, it was fun. I enjoy her visits over at my mom’s compound. I was always excited when she went to Chucky’s donuts and brought donuts over and we all had coffee and donuts and chatted outside. She will be greatly missed.
Carol you will be missed.
Aunt Carol was such a positive, kind, and thoughtful person to all. She will be missed.
Grandma Carol will be greatly missed. We always enjoyed chatting with her at family BBQs and she was always so kind and willing to embrace those who were not necessary direct family. Our thoughts and love go out to her and her family.
An empty hole for sure, 3 cruises and our long trip to Minn.and all those lunches. She is missed by me every day. A real angel for her family.
She was there when her family needed her and they in turn were always there for her with much gratitude and love.
RIP
Beautiful lady and cherished daughter of the Most High. I will always remember her kind smile, warmth and love. Always a quiet and gentle spirit which is so pleasing to the Father. A true light. Much joy to you Carol as you now rest in His presence. Much peace and love to all of your family and those who knew and were blessed by you.
