Obituary
Caroline Halone, beloved mother, and friend went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022. Caroline was born September 23, 1940, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Lester “Skeeter” and Hazel Evans (Thompson). She was married to Phillip Nimke early in life. Together they had four daughters: Rebecca, Erin, Rhonda, and Marie.
Caroline later married Walford “Harlan” Halone who became one of the family in every way.
She spent several years working at the phone company as a Directory Assistance Operator and Load Specialist. She loved her job. Who else gets paid for something she loves to do…talk on the phone!
She enjoyed collecting Kewpies, feeding her squirrels, and reading, dancing, crocheting, board games, and getting together with friends and family. Her grandkids and great grandkids were a special delight to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, stepfather Jessie “Bud” Thompson, her husband Harlan, and daughter Rebecca.
Caroline leaves behind sister Janet, daughters (Erin, Rhonda, and Marie), son-in-law Bobby Constantino, her grandchildren; Katie Young (spouse Shawn Young), Cody Saisslin, Phillip Nimke (spouse Nichelle Nimke), and Stephanie Kaydus plus ten great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and friends.
She was always quick to help solve a problem, give advice, and be a shoulder to cry on. She was generous with her time and her love. We will miss her bright smile and her sense of humor.
Gol bless you mom.
