Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn A. Whitesel, on October 26, 2014 in Kirkland, WA. She was born in Seattle on January 11, 1924, to Margaret and Emile Gaillac.
Raised in West Seattle and attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Graduated from PLU, and was a school librarian in the Federal Way School District for many years. Carolyn married William F. Whitesel in 1945, and throughout their marriage they lived in Puyallup, Anacortes, Parkland, and Federal Way. She loved to vacation in Maui, and also enjoyed many wonderful years at their family cabin on Hood Canal.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Jim Whitesel (Sharron) of Kirkland, WA; Joan Barclay (John) of Bend, OR; and John Whitesel (Susie) of Kihei, Hawaii. Five grandchildren: Anna Jaross (Chris), Joseph Whitesel (Nicole), Morgan Kyle (Erik), and Michael Whitesel (Tara). Six great-grandchildren: Kayla, Addison, Will, Max, Connor and Sloane. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, and sister, Geraldine Zeller.
A special thank you to her loving caregivers, Edison and Sheila Navaluna and staff, at Peace of Mind Adult Family Home in Kirkland. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Steel Lake Presbyterian Church, Federal Way, WA. Remembrances may be made to Evergreen Hospice and the Humane Society. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Condolences to all the Whitesel family. We will always remember the many fun times we had with Carolyn (and Bill) at the cabin. Both will be missed and never forgotten. Love to you all,

Joanie, daughter, has many good things to say about her mom over her life span, unfortunately we will not be able to attend her memorial.
Our condolences go out to all of the Whitesel family. Carolyn will be missed by us and the extended Stetson’s family. So sorry we will not be able to attend the memorial.
My thoughts & prayers go out to the whole Whitesel Family on the loss of their Mother, Mother-in_Law, Grandmother & more.. I know Carolyn will be missed by all of her family & friends.

Sorry to have been out of town when your Mom’s memorial service was held. I recall with fondness the hospitality of the Whitesel home in our neighborhood. Best blessings as you adjust to her loss and may the resurrection promise of Christ sustain you.
