Carver Ree Hutchine

Obituary

Mr. Carver Hutchine, age 72, passed away on December 17, 2020.

Carver was born in Columbus, GA, August 17, 1948 to the union of Rev. Ree Hutchine and mother Vinnie L. (Jackson) Hutchine.
Carver was once married to Peggy Grice, of Dothan, Alabama, in 1974, in Tacoma, WA. No children were born to this union.

Carver grew up as an army brat, as his father's assignments moved the family from place to place. By the time he finished high school, his dad's last assignment was Ft. Lewis, WA. The family joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church, in the late 60's, under Pastor J.A. Boles. Carver accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. In his later years, he really enjoyed attending Bible Study.

Carver graduated from high school and received his AA degree from Tacoma Community College. Carver pursued a few interesting professions before he began his life work as a bank loan officer. He helped many people buy their first home. He was a people person, had an engaging smile, and with a sense of humor you knew what he thought about things even if you didn't ask!

Carver was very active in life, no grass grew under his feet, until he suffered a major stroke in 2010. As a result of that, he developed dementia, and other medical problems arose. It was difficult for him, but he adjusted to a less active lifestyle, until the Lord called him home. Carver passed peacefully at his family adult home surrounded by his loving caregivers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ree Hutchine, mother, Vinnie L. Hutchine, and several aunts, and uncles.

Carver is survived by his sister, Kathy Taylor (Curtis); brother, Chris Hutchine; nieces, Nia, and Geneva; nephews, James, Imani,
Curtis, and Paul; and many cousins.

A brief viewing of the body will be held immediately prior to the service, and after the service. Due to COVID, in person attendance for the service is limited. If interested in attending the service by zoom please contact the family.
