Catherine George Phillips

Obituary
Catherine was born in Seattle on March 10, 1922. She graduated from Franklin High School and worked at Boeing during WW II. She passed away June 9, 2004 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. We will miss her very much.
Catherine is survived by her husband Tom, daughters Cheryl Buursma and husband Bill, Danielle Phillips, son Tom Phillips and wife Renee, grandchildren Jason Buursma, Lauren, Kali and Aunika Phillips, brother Dan George and wife Kiki and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Gunderson and Joy Brewer.
Catherine was married to Tom for 62 years. She devoted her whole life to her family and focused completely on their well being and success. She always had a needlepoint project underway that was designated for someone special, filling her families homes with her gorgeous work.
Catherine worked throughout her life contributing her efforts to the Marilyn K. Snow Cerebral Palsy Unit and the St. Demetrios Philoptochos Guild. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation, or St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
Services will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2100 Boyer Avenue East, Seattle at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 15, 2004.
