We have many fond memories of “Gpa”! You can’t think of Gpa without remembering his homemade wine, smoked salmon, beautiful garden, and cherished pick-up truck! He was always tinkering- working busy like a bee keeping things beautiful and organized. I am so thankful that he got to know my children- they are blessed to have had a Great Grandfather in their lives! I think back, and Grandpa always appreciated anything you gave him- and if it was a shirt- well, he made sure to wear it when he was around you! Grandpa had a great sense of humor and loved to get a laugh. But most of all, we’ll remember him as a man who loved his wife dearly. You’ll be missed Gpa!!

Dear Shirley,

It has been so long; the last time I saw you guys was when you came to Polo for a visit. Grandma and I talked fondly of Uncle Cecil the other day. I asked her if they ever got into trouble together when they were young and she got a big smile on her face and said “Oh I’m sure we did!” It was cute. She was sharing memories and there were some tears too. Just wanted you to know she was thinking of you and her brother.

Much Love and Sympathy,

Julie and Casey

Whenever Uncle Cecil would visit IL it was a special event. He was full of stories, smiles, and was a loving brother to my mom. He was a sweetheart and I know he will be miss by all who knew him.

Hey Pop~

We miss you. We have so many loving memories of good times spent with you & Mom. You always had an infectious laugh & were ready to help people if you could. I’ll never forget when you rebuilt the fence around the pool. After you were through, with it, a tornado couldn’t have moved it, Ha! Thank you for being a great Step-Dad & great Gi-Pa!!

With love,

Sandy, Roy & Randy
