Obituary

Chang Lai Chung, age 85, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully at home on Friday, January 06, 2006. Chang resided with and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim Chung; his son Kee Wah Chung and his beloved dog “Yuen” that he called his “Royal Son Huangdi Zi”. He is also survived by two daughters, Amy Blanchard and Judy Curtis Kostas; son, Steven Elena Chung; two grandchildren, Colette Hans Amon and Dustin Blanchard; one great grandson, Frank Amon; “Henry” who is Yuen’s brother and other family in China. Chang was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery in 1996.

Chang loved life. He loved that he could wake up in the morning with his bowl of oatmeal, spoon-feed his dog Yuen and watch game shows all day. Afternoons consisted of taking long naps with Yuen snuggled in between his legs. It was the best of matches that Yuen and Chang shared. His wife Kim would spend time at his side making sure his belly was full and that the golden years were spent with love and warmth. Kee Wah would drive Chang around while Chang told him he was stinky . . . the best of times.

Chang lived a long life surrounded by family and friends that loved him dearly. He will be missed.

Dear Daddy,

I’m having a tough time letting go and saying “Good Night” tonight. We laid you down to rest today. It was very hard and sad. I just wanted to say that I love you and I miss you terribly!!! I want a hug. We shed alot of tears but at the same time shared many stories and smiles: The service was beautiful and the whole family was together: I’m very sorry Steven didn’t show, but he did send you some beautiful flowers. I never did write that letter you wanted me to Maybe… someday I will see him again. We all had a very tough time, especially Mommy. But I promise we will always be there to take care of her. So please don’t worry. Yuen was a very good boy today, he misses you horribly: Kee Wah did a wonderful job on your services. I’m very proud of him!!: Anyhow, I wanted you to know I will never forget the precious talks we had in the evenings while you were in the hospital. You will be in our hearts forever. Judy is putting something together for mommy with the flowers from your service. Its very special! While you and Jeffery watch over us we will always keep our memories alive inside and our love flowing. What a wonderful family you have!! Mommy, Yuen, Kee Wah, Shauna, Judy, Curtis, Henry, Amy, Dustin, Colette, Hans, Frank: I have to go for now but I will be with you again someday. I love you very, very much Daddy

Good Night!
