Charles E. Sanders, Jr., better known as Charlie or Chuck, died February 22, 2000 in Seattle at the age 51 after battling colon and liver cancer. Born March 5, 1948 in Los Angeles, California, he moved with his family to Oregon in 1960.
In 1966, he graduated from Brookings-Harbor High School in Brookings, Oregon, where he met and fell in love with Pamela J. Young. They were married June 5, 1969. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1970.
In 1971, they moved to the Seattle area and their daughter, Erin, was born May 13, 1976.
He was a fabulous cook, brewed a mean beer, and loved sports. He also loved weekend trips antiquing with his wife, always searching for the next perfect addition to their collections.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, both of Seattle; his parents, Maryann and Charles E. Sanders, Sr., of Redmond, Oregon; his sister, Candice Sanders of Portland, Oregon, and his dog, Lily.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Pam and Erin, if you get a chance to read these, I just wanted to share my thoughts, prayers, and warmest condolences with you. The piece on Charlie on-line is a wonderful insight into his character–I really appreciated reading it.
I know how much in love Pam and Charly were, and it must be very hard to lose the love of one’s life. I’m deeply sorry it happened this way, and Angel and I want you to know we’re at your side.
Pam, Erin, and Charlie were the cutest little family. I rememeber how Charlie used to come to Pam’s work on Fridays for lunch. Sometimes Erin would meet them also. Once Charlie sent Pam unexpected flowers at work and a teary eyed Pam tended those flowers for a week! I feel that the Sanders family had a very special bond and I would like to send my love. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Oh Pam,
Charlie was so wonderful. The way you spoke of him, you two were truly happy. I envy your happiness and love. That is the kind of love that only happens once in a lifetime and it showed. He will always live on in people who knew him.
Love,
Felisa
Pam – I will miss Charlie very much, he was very special to me. May he rest in peace. Love you… your favorite sister
Pam always talked about Charlie at work. Once she and I had a discussion about relationships and she stated that the relationship between her and Charlie was one that really couldn’t be explained. After we talked for a while, I knew although I never told Pam because I didn’t want her to know that I looked up to her laugh that I wanted a relationship like the one Pam HAS with Charlie. May the Lord watch between you and him, while you are apart, one from another.
Love.
Craig
