Obituary

Charles Franklin REASY, SR

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Charles Franklin Reasy Sr. He passed into the arms of our Lord on October 25, 2009 at the age of 79.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Ross and Marie Reasy, sister Frances Evans and Erma Beebe and brother Ross Reasy. Left to cherish his memory are his spouse Lorraine M. Reasy and their children Douglas & Audry Reasy, Daniel Reasy, Piper Reasy and Chuck & Peggy Reasy Jr, and his siblings Don Reasy, Marge Reasy Gilroy, Jean Reasy Sides and Kelly Reasy McIntyre . All of his remaining siblings, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will miss him dearly and join in celebrating his life here on earth.

Charlie was born on December 18, 1929 in Lemmon, South Dakota where he enjoyed the traditional life of a ranch family. He loved riding horses, run cattle and running the machinery of a working ranch. He met and married Lorraine in their hometown of Lemmon, SD and began a happy life together raising their four children.

After serving in the United States Navy he relocated to Seattle to serve his apprenticeship at Berger Machine Shop. It was in Seattle that he started his professional career in real estate development, after which he began a successful career in real estate investments. He was an accomplished contractor, extremely smart in investment and possessed a keen sense of strategic business venture. His entire life, his hobbies and passions he enjoyed were buying and selling cattle, traveling and listening to good ol’ country music. He retired at the age of 52 with Lorraine and enjoyed their winter home in Mesa, Arizona, but moved back to Mill Creek, Washington permanently to be close to family. It was there that he spent the rest of his days emailing jokes to family and friends.

Charlie was a strongly spirited man that evoked passionate debates on politics and economics. He was always supportive of his family and friends, truly a rock for many. He loved being updated on all technology and was also known for having all the latest of gadgets. He had a feisty nature, but was also always good for making everyone laugh. He loved his wife, his family and being a proud American.

Visitation was held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 12:00 Noon – 7:00 PM and Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac. A memorial service was held held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Westside Foursquare Church at 11452 26th Ave. SW Seattle, WA 98146. Following the memorial will be an interment at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial located on 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac, WA 98188.

My Great Uncle Charlie, I think of you often and how much you meant to me. I was always excited when you came to visit us in California because you were so much fun and made me laugh. I enjoyed visiting you at your home in Washington also. Nothing but good things to say about this man, I miss him for sure.

Charlie,

You are one of a kind, my Brother, my friend. We have a bond that only Brothers can share. I want to thank you for 77 years of wonderful memoirs and wouldn’t have wanted to share them with anyone else. It broke my heart to see you go through what you did. I am glad to know that you are now in a better place. I love you and until I see you again, know that I miss and think of you everyday.

Your Brother,

Don

Lorraine and Family,

Marge and I are always here for you.

Grandpa, I love you and truly miss you. I will never forget the Mearl Haggard concert you took me too. I’m so glad that Kiara had the opportunity to know you and to spend the time that she had with you. I love you and I will see you later.

I remember 3 summers ago I came over for the summer, and I remember that whenever I came into the family room, you were always in there watching the news, and you see me and I’d give you a hug and a kiss and you’d always say you such a good girl Kiara, then you would always ask grammie ” isn’t she a good girl Lorraine?”, than I would just laugh and say thank you papa, but you still did after that. I also remember that ever since I was born, you’d always call me Kira, good times!

Love you always papa.

Dad walking in the door not seeing you in your chair talking on the phone, reading the paper, or sleeping with Kody either on your lap or on top of the back of your chair just doesn’t seem right. You are truly missed. Mom misses you but knows not only are you in a much happier place but also that you are waiting for her and Kody….We all know that you are waiting for all of us.

Love you dad, we’ll see you later.

Piper

Oh by the way…. Kody is being well taken care of.

Dad, I wanted to let you know that you will always be in my heart. I’m so proud of how strong you were this last year and half, even on the bad days you were stronger than all of us. I’m so happy that you are up in heaven with the Lord, and someday I will be up there with you. I am looking forward to that day. You will be missed by all of the people that you have touched in your life, and the legacy that you left. I promise that I will carry on that legacy on as long as I live. Thank you for being the best father that a son could ever have. I will think of you everyday.

I Love You Dad

From an unknown author:

“SOME PEOPLE COME INTO OUR LIVES AND QUICKLY GO.

OTHERS STAY AWHILE, MAKE FOOTPRINTS ON OUR HEARTS AND WE ARE NEVER, EVER THE SAMES”.

We will sorely miss Charlie, but we know he’s in a better place and we can meet up with him again!

May the peace of the Lord be with Lorraine and family at this time of sorrow.

Papa, I love you so much. I thank the Lord that he let me introduce Marc and Cy. I wish only that you could have met Soleil. I cannot believe that you are gone, but I hope you are watching us from heaven. I already miss your teasing, I miss you always answering the phone to give me a hard time and I miss you sitting in your chair every time we come in. Bye-Bye Papa.

Lorraine and family, I am sorry for your loss. What I liked best dealing with Chuck over the years was you always knew where you stood. Add to that his word was his bond made it a pleasure to do business with him. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Good bye, dear friend. You had quite a ride through life. Jim and I enjoyed Lorraine and your Carlton Farm the most. The best pigs in the county, fed warm slop on the coldest mornings. How they grew! As in all that you did, you did it with a flair. You will be missed, dear friend.

Dear Aunt Lorraine and family, We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Charlie. He was the most outgoing, generous, kind, loveable and helpful man we knew. Even though he lived 1000’s of miles away he still touched the hearts of many in the upper midwest. We wish we had more opportunities to spend time with him, but the times we did were very special dating back some 40 years. I know it will be difficult, But I am sure that he would want us to celebrate his life just like he celebrated his. Love always, Corby, Deb, Darian and Chanceler Colgrove.
