Charley Michael Smith Jr.

October 2, 1957 - January 30, 2015

Obituary

Charley M. Smith, Jr.:  Born to Charley Smith, Sr. & Ruthie B. Smith on October 2, 1957 in Seattle, WA.  “(Here’s a family secret)” Mike was called a Jr., but in a way he wasn’t! Charley Sr. doesn’t have a middle name! Mike got his middle name because, mom had a crush on a soap star named Mike Carr on, “As the World Turns”, and she was determined to have her final say!  Mike attended Lotona, Columbia & Pacific Schools in the Seattle area.  Mike started working at a very young age.  His first job was at Andy’s Diner, he then went to The Boeing Company, where he retired after 39 years. Mike loved his cars, he started with a 1965 Mustang, Chevy Impala & other nice cars throughout the years.  In 1990 he met Doris Ward, fell in love & they married in 1992. They had a wonderful life together, he loved his wife very much & took care of her very well.  As time went by Michael (as some of us called him) became ill.  He developed cancer of the Kidney & lost one, he had a few other problems, which eventually led to his passing.

He was preceded in Death by his  Parents, Charley Sr. & Ruthie B., He leaves to mourn: His wife Doris, His Sister Amanda R. Smith, Brother Terry A. Smith; Three Step Children; Venishia Daniel, Howard E. Ward, Jr., Deshaun Ward Donaldsen, Aunt Marie Jones, Father & Mother in law, Bro & Sis in law,  & grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews, & other relatives!

He also leaves his Best Friend George, they went to breakfast every Saturday, to their favorite little coffee shop, where they named him, “Mocha Mike”!  Don’t worry George, he will be drinking his coffee with the “King of Kings”, now; and “will”, be watching over all of us!

A Message from his wife:  Pooh, I’ll miss “You”! You will forever be in my “Heart”, until I see you again!  “I Love You”, Your Darling Wife, “Doris”!

“There will be Peace now, because he is Free from Pain, at last!  RIP, Michael!”

Charley, I will miss your wit. You had an uncanny knowledge of past movies, songs, and performers. Your humor will be missed. You are free now, no longer restricted. Keep us in your prayers as we will keep you in ours. You built airplanes, now take flight with you own wings! Amen

Although I worked with Charlie, I did not know him very well. Didn’t say too much, he seemed like a gentle soul. We were all hoping Charlie would’ve had a long life in retirement.

Sorry for your loss, Jon
