Christine “Tina” Nyland Sewell
Born September 13, 1914 in Pequot Lakes, MN; died August 7, 2004 in Boise, ID at the age of 89 years. Tina was the oldest of 6 children who she helped in raising. She spent her summers working at Breezy Point Resort in Northern Minnesota. Tina met her husband, Russell Nyland, whom she had 4 children. They soon followed family and moved west to Seattle to find work with Boeing. Tina took her driving test and bought her first car, a Rambler. She attended the Metropolitan Beauty School, received her diploma and worked as a beautician. Tina loved visitors, flowers, baking cookies and most of all going to dances, where she met and married Karl Sewell whom she shared many good years. Tina leaves behind 3 sons, Gary, Alan and David Nyland; 2 brothers, Oliver and Albert Stanley; sister, Esther Swartout; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Tina always said “Have fun while you can”. Graveside Service Friday, August 13th at 3:00 PM at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac 206 242-1787.

I baby sat the “Nyland kids” a few times and remember them fondly. Often wondered about where you all were living and all of your accomplishments. We send our sincere sympathy, to you all, at the passing of your mother.

I remember your mother chatting and laughing and thoroughly enjoying herself in her kitchen while Gary began making sandwiches for a picnic. Then things got serious when she told us we could have either mustard or mayonnaise on the sandwiches, but we didn’t need both. She meant it, too! Long time ago — 47 years; I remember her well.
