Christopher Check passed away peacefully on September 26, 2020. He was born on January 15, 1955 to Paul and Jacqueline Check.
Chris is survived by his mother Missey, his sister Carolyne (John), wife of 43 years Dixie, children: Irina (Gabe), Alexis, Natalie and John (Alecia) and grandchildren: Gracie, Logan, Natalya and Jensen.
Chris spent his career in the computer industry, primarily at Boeing. He had many and varied interests. As a younger man he hiked, camped, climbed mountains, travelled and was a certified scuba diver. Chris was a collector extraordinaire, and loved movies, books, archeology, geology, metal detecting and all things Bigfoot. He enjoyed teaching and working with teens which was one of his most rewarding experiences. He was an artist in several different mediums and a writer. He loved cooking and eating with family and friends. He was known for his selection of thought provoking and entertaining tee shirts. His deep faith, gregarious nature, wit, generosity and quirky sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him.
The last 10 years of his life were impacted by his many health problems, but he remained positive and was an inspiration to many.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He touched so many lives in so many ways.
The family is hoping to have a Celebration of Life service sometime next year when COVID restrictions have lifted.
