Clara is survived by sons Duane (Sharon) and David (Marcia), and daughter Diana; sister Virginia Cole, and brother Charles Freitag; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Our love and prayers are with Diana, Duane & Dave at this time of their mother’s passing & always. I (Janet) can’t say enough of what your family means to me. Clara was a very strong willed lady. Our family lived next door to the Recks from 1952 until 2002. I lived there from 1952 – 1961. We shared many fun times together. I can’t thank Clara enough for watching after my mother after my Dad’s passing in 1977. She & Duane Sr. were always available for anything that she needed. Each morning they checked to make sure Mom’s blind was up, meaning that she was up for the day.
Many blessing to all of you,
Fred & Janet
My husband and I rented the rambler next to Duane and Clara n ’84-85. We appreciated them so much and enjoyed their friendship. Clara taught me how to do my family financial records without knowing she did! Duane was always in the yard, burning leaves and talking to our young son, Martin. When we moved it was sad to say goodbye to them, they were the best landlords we had ever known. They told us we were the most responsible renters they had known. We wanted to buy the rambler, but moved to Spanaway instead. I returned to tell them my husband had died in ’90, they were always so gracious to my family. My heart goes out to the children of Duane and Clara, and I wish them the very best.
Sincerely, Donna Gurth
In my memories Clara will always be the Sunshine Lady, consistently radiating warmth, kindness and caring. She will be truly missed. My condolences to all of her wonderful family.
As a fellow resident at Village Green, I will miss Clara daily. We had a wonderful relationship and I was proud to be her friend. There will be an empty space in my heart as one does not have as warm, kind, caring and fun friend like Clara very often. She was a marvelous mother and her children, Duane, Diana and David, have lost a treasure. To them and their families, I extend my sincerest sympathy.
Love, Louise
Clara was an old friend of many years. We met when our children started school and shared many parenting adventures. Clara and I belonged to the same garden club, planted the garden by the old Milton Library and had lunch together with the group once a month until a few years ago. I was sorry to see her move away to Federal Way but occasionally saw her at the Milton senior center. She was a good friend and mother. I know her children will miss her.

I was a high school friend of Diana and only met her parents a few times but always appreciated how home spun and warm they were to local kids. Our best wishes
