Obituary

Claudette Peblier Olson died peacefully after a long battle with cancer on October 27, 2017 in Federal Way, Washington at the age of 79.

Claudette is survived by her boys, Doug (Sheri), Steve (Jen), Rob (JoAnna), and Mike (Donna). She was also the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Lindsay Cheek (Ryan), Hilary Rossa (Eryn), Sarah, Julianna, Brianna, Zachary, Nicholas & Aaron and three great-grandchildren: Claire, Ashlyn and Connor. Claudette also leaves her sister Jeanette Magan (George) and nieces Joanne Folco and Jane Askew of New Bedford, MA. She is also survived by her many Favier family cousins in Merced, California.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dennis in 2002.

Claudette was born on July 29, 1938 in San Jose, California to Lou and Francis Peblier. She grew up in the Merced area, graduating from Merced High School in 1956. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life Dennis. Following their marriage, career moves took her away from Merced, but a big piece of her heart never left there.

Claudette and Dennis retired from Boeing in 1994 She was an accomplished cook, gardener, quilter, seamstress and collector. She was an active and dedicated member of the Tacoma Elks with Dennis. After retiring from Boeing, Claudette and Dennis travelled the United States in their motorhome, visiting our National Parks and reconnecting with family and friends from coast-to-coast.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday November 3, 2017 at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way, Washington with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Claudette’s life. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Floyd and Delores Jones Cancer Institute at Virginia Mason
